Foundation

The Foundation for Hope was established in 1997 as a not-for-profit organization with a tax-exempt status under the section of 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service.

Foundation Mission

The Foundation was created to establish and maintain a fund that can be used to provide financial assistance to individuals and their families who are not financially able to pay a large part of the cost of such services and to offer professional caregivers hospice educational opportunities and secondary programs and activities that serve to increase community awareness of the needs of the terminally ill and availability of hospice care as a viable option.

The Foundation for HOPE serves to inform, education, and support those seeking hospice care and those who provide care for the dying.

Patient and Family Programs

The Foundation offers two programs for patients and families:

    1. The Compassionate Response program makes immediate gifts to hospice patients and families for needs as defined by hospice caregivers. The nature of the gift is limited only by the needs of the patient, family, and the ingenuity of the hospice caregiver.
    2. The Realize a Dream program provides aid in the realization of a wish or dream of a patient or family. This sometimes makes a difference in completing one’s life work.

Funding

The Foundation for HOPE is funded primarily by memorial contributions and community donations. Funding levels are determined by resource availability. A Board of Directors administers the Foundation.
