When my husband…knew he had advanced stomach cancer he requested that I call “Hospice.” Little did I realize how wonderful Life Source Hospice was. After a very comprehensive review in our home with Steven and Stella, we were assigned the nurse for our care, Tina Corcoran. A friend of ours knew Tina Corcoran and contacted her when she will still on vacation. Needless to say that didn’t matter to her. She contacted us and helped us through the weekend she was away on vacation. It didn’t matter, she was there for us with advice and help.
When she arrived on her first work day with us, she was the most wonderful, efficient, knowledgeable, emphatic person one would only wish for in this sad and problematic time. By then my husband was in pain, which he called “discomfort,” but Tina knew how to deal with him in the most professional but caring way.
She treated Tom and us with the utmost respect and professionalism, but also with a caring and gentle way always talking to Tom (and us) about what she was doing to make him comfortable. I cannot praise her enough for all his care. She is an exceptional nurse, excellent at what she does and excellent at dying and living alike.
We are so grateful for all she did for Tom and for all of us, as a result.
