I feel that it is important to tell you that what you have done for me and my family was meaningful almost beyond words. From the very beginning, you explained the process of Hospice, your role and the roles of other employees. You were there for every question, and you had answers when I felt at a loss. You communicated with all three of the sisters who were involved with my father’s care. You helped all of us and me in particular manage my father’s end of life wishes.
I was never frightened, just worried when he was so agitated the first night I stayed over. Thank you for making those phone calls to my dad’s doctor, making all the important adjustments to the medications, planning his physical care and taking me and Karen through the process.
I would have fallen apart if you were not there to explain the how and why as my dad began declining. Most importantly for me, I was holding his hand and had just finished telling him we all loved him, I loved him and he was safe and I wasn’t going to leave him alone when he breathed his last.
Everything about my father’s last days could not have been better. All the family members spent time talking with him, expressing their love for him and he was able to let us know that he loved us too. For me this was all a gift, most particularly because he and I did not have much of a relationship for many years, and was not a demonstrative man.
I bless you for helping us make our father’s death as beautiful as it could have been. I will never forget your kindness, generosity, and assistance at this crucial time of our lives.
